Our Story

At New Light Photography, we’re more than just a husband-and-wife team—we’re soulmates, best friends, and creative partners who share a passion for capturing life’s most meaningful moments. What began as a dream rooted in our mutual love for photography has grown into a business built on connection, authenticity, and storytelling.

These days, our boys—Landon and Ryder—are mostly grown (one off at college!), but our home is still full of life thanks to our two dogs, Loki and Athena, and our mischievous bunny, Oliver. Living through the fast-changing seasons of parenthood has only deepened our appreciation for how important it is to preserve the moments that matter most.

While Shanna leads all of our portrait sessions—capturing everything from newborns and milestones to seniors and families—Damyon joins her on wedding days, bringing his calm presence, creative eye, and attention to detail. Together, we make a great team: blending perspectives, balancing emotion and technique, and documenting love stories in a way that feels personal, honest, and true to you.

Meet Shanna

Lead Photographer | Creative Heart of New Light Photography

I’m Shanna—the one you’ll find behind the lens for just about everything here at New Light Photography! From newborn snuggles and milestone giggles to senior portraits and family chaos (the fun kind!), I’m your go-to girl for all things portrait photography.

I’m a proud mom to Landon (now off at college!) and a proud bonus mom to Ryder. These two have my heart, and it’s such a joy to watch them grow into the kind, capable young men they’re becoming. At home, we’re also kept on our toes by our two dogs, Loki and Athena, and our free-roaming bunny, Oliver—who definitely thinks he runs the place.

Living through the fast-moving seasons of motherhood and family life has only deepened my love for capturing the moments that matter most. Whether we’re documenting baby toes, birthday milestones, or the beautiful mess of everyday life, my goal is to make you feel seen, celebrated, and beautifully captured.

Meet Damyon

Second Shooter | Wedding Day Calm & Creative

I’m Damyon—Shanna’s husband, biggest supporter, and second shooter on wedding days. While Shanna leads all of our portrait work, I join her for weddings, where I help capture the emotion, energy, and once-in-a-lifetime moments that make each day unique.

I served in the U.S. Army, and that experience shaped so much of who I am—teaching me discipline, patience, and the ability to stay calm under pressure (which definitely comes in handy on wedding days!). Outside of photography, I work full-time as a Diesel Technician, a career I’m proud of—and one that’s recently come full circle, as our son Landon has decided to follow in my footsteps. We now work side by side, and it’s been an incredible experience watching him grow and thrive in the same field.

I’m a proud dad to Ryder and a proud bonus dad to Landon. Being part of their lives, and watching them grow into strong, capable young men, means everything to me. When I’m not working or shooting weddings, you’ll usually find me behind the camera photographing wildlife or cars—my personal creative outlets.

Working alongside Shanna doing something we both love has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life. It’s an honor to help capture love stories for couples beginning their next chapter—and to be a quiet, steady presence on such an important day.
